Ukuu v16.12

Ukuu v16.12 is now available. This update fixes some critical issues.

What’s New

  • Fixed an issue with update check. User would sometimes be prompted to install an older version.

  • Fixed an issue where the update notification script would cause high CPU usage if internet connection was not active.

  • Fixed an issue where the application would quit while refreshing the cache

  • Cache refresh is now much faster. Uses aria2 for running parallel downloads.

  • Added Swedish translation by Åke Engelbrektson

  • Remove startup scripts when application is uninstalled


Ubuntu and derivatives (Ubuntu, Linux Mint, etc)

Packages are available in the Launchpad PPA for supported Ubuntu releases.
Run the following commands in a terminal window:

sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:teejee2008/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ukuu

For older Ubuntu releases which have reached end-of-life, you can install from the DEB files linked below.
ukuu-latest-i386.deb (32-bit)
ukuu-latest-amd64.deb (64-bit)

  1. Hello, i get a blank screen after upgrading to 16.12
    No Kernels will be shown.
    I removed this Tool, deleted /.config/ukuu and reinstalled ist.
    It makes then a short Refresh after starting, but it stops refreshing after some seconds. The folder /.config/ukuu is not created again.
    I'm iusing Linux Mint 17.3
    Any Idea ro solve this Problem?

      my Internet works fine. Some Friends of me, all with Mint KDE 17.3, have the same Problem.
