Moving to GitHub

Dropbox has stopped supporting direct linking of files from the Public folder. So the DEB and RUN files linked in my previous posts will no longer work. Instead of moving to another storage provider I'll be switching to GitHub.

The source code for my projects will now be available on both Launchpad as well as GitHub. Both repositories will be kept in sync.

GitHub provides hosting for binary files and a release page that lists the releases for a project. Links for downloads given below:

Selene Releases
Ukuu Releases
Aptik Releases
Conky Manager Releases
Indicator Diskman Releases
Battery Monitor Releases

Ukuu v17.1

Ukuu v17.1 is now available.

An option has been added to the settings window to update GRUB so that the GRUB menu is displayed for 2 seconds at boot time. This will help to recover from a bad kernel update by selecting another kernel to boot. When the GRUB menu is displayed, use the menu option Advanced options for Ubuntu to select another kernel and boot from it. After booting successfully, use Ukuu to remove the new kernel that is causing problems.

Introducing Compared

This is a tool to compare text files in two directories. Similar to Meld but has a simpler UI. Files can be double-clicked to open in Diffuse. Directories can be bookmarked for quicker access. I made this tool a while back to help me compare source code files in multiple projects. I’m sharing it in case someone finds it useful. Source is available on Launchpad.
